Bolivia

bolivia13Salar de Uyuni: Probably one of the most awe inspiring serene scenery I've seen in my lifetime.  It is the word's largest salt fat at 10, 582 square kilometers. The Salar is covered by an extremely flat few meters of salt crust whic serves as a source of salt and covers a pool of brine rich in lithium.

Wildlife: The Salar is a major breeding ground of the pink flamingos which we saw in abundance.  We also were able to see the Andean fox trying to steal food for nearby camps, which is why it's also known as the "culpeo zorro". Another intrestesting critter was the "vizcacha" which is basically a rabbit looking rodent with a long curled tail!

While traveling through the Salar we were blessed to meet a great group of international people mostly Israelis and a New Zealand doctor who definitely made it a better trip.
